I keep thinking about how Christianity has lost significant influence in the morality of our nation over several decades. I believe that has happened by to many, including myself idle Christians. Often assuming that things won’t matter much by my personal prayers or efforts. I honestly think we are on the threshold of that being changed to the positive again. The words that comes to mind are “mercy and grace are at hand.” It’s not about religious ideals being forced by doctrines of legalism. It is however time to live and uphold righteousness as our core governing compass. We can and should see the church get “saved” again for Christ’s sake. To be saved from complacency of putting our own creature comforts and soulish reputation. We need to be saved from fears of not being viewed by others as “Jesus Freaks” or “Bible Thumpers”. The possibility of being labeled has won due to the risk of rejection. Problem is very real of often keeping myself and other from stopping for the one(s) who need love, truth and eternal life. I am guilty of being this person who’s cared about what people think about me more than I should. Ironically almost always when I have been light and love both to Christians and the world I have been honored. Some politely decline prayer. Most thank you for praying and or telling them Jesus loves them. Some do scoff and make fun, but it’s their defense popping up not knowing his words are honey for them. Rarely are people nasty as I fear most of the time. We often are ensnared by our own fears from over thinking mostly. This has been the downfall of Christianity in a great Nation which can for the good change the world. While we defend credible arguments between right and wrong. The world sees a double minded people who encourage them to surrender eternity to the Jesus who doesn’t get much notoriety daily. (saved- “sozo” means to be rescued or delivered from something.)
