Millennial Reign
Lately the Holy Spirit has been pressing me in my heart regarding doing something different than what I have done before. Perhaps you can identify with this pressing. Over the years it has occurred for different reasons. It is the place of not being comfortable with how it is. At the same time, there is hope that there is a comfort waiting once the pressings’ purpose is revealed to us.
This has been what has been taking place the past year since the passing of my dad. To say that it has been a roller coaster ride at times would be an understatement. However, equally true is that we are hearing a lot of great and encouraging words. Without fail He is faithful to minister to us even when we do not know what is going on.
We have spent many hours in prayer this past year seeking for wisdom and revelation of what is our next step to take in public ministry. I do not know the exact answer to this however, if you know the Lord, He at times reveals truths on a need to know basis. I do think that this helps us more than we can understand. We have prayed more for geographical clarity than anything else. What is ironic to me is that although we’ve have been given some words from people concerning where we are to be geographically off and on, we haven’t sensed the location needing to shift right now as much as our mindsets and hearts. If you have kept up with our ministry over the years you will know that there have been season shifts with geography accompanying it also. When this has been protocol, it tends to be our default settings for analyzing what we feel. If we feel discontented or out of place so to speak, we default into believing that must mean we are to move. I think the answer to move is always yes, it just isn’t always to move some place. It is to move with my leading. I don’t have any doubts that there is a time someday of geographical moving per the Lords leadership. I am coming around to being moved in a new thing, with a new mindset as well.
This brings me to the title of this long overdue letter. Millennial Reign is a phrase I have heard and seen in my spirit several times this past year. It ties into dreams, visions, revelatory words and encounters I have had personally. You see for years I have noticed the need to see a bridge built generationally between the younger and elder generations. The scriptures are filled with the principal per the Lords way of doing things. This requires a humility of both sides seeing the worth of the other generation. It also requires patience and love to look past the flaws and ignorance’s we both have and establish a bond that withstands adversity and storms.
What this means for me is a surrender to that call. It doesn’t mean that it’s an exclusive mandate in which no other message is proclaimed. However, I do believe everyone whether a season or lifetime carries a predominate word from the Lord, I see the need to deal with hearts and minds to release what the scripture is saying with the Spirit of Elijah drawing the hearts together. I am convinced that the younger generation is so valuable and just needs mentors who love them. I am also convinced the younger generation needs revelation as to how valuable the wisdom and revelation possessed by the granddads and grandmothers is as well. Not only that, but how valuable the fathers and mothers both as parents naturally and supernaturally also are for them.
Let’s not be a people so wrapped up in our lives we neglect what I believe is most important for the Kingdom of God. That is to invest and prefer others above ourselves. If we cannot take credit for the gifts and calling of God given to us, then we should not be so foolish to be self-centered as to why we have them. We’ve been given life to lose it for Christ gain. It’s no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me. I fear that we are at times waiting for the Lord to do something extraordinary then we move or act on it. Though I think this will happen, it is not wisdom to hold back when today is the day of salvation. I look forward to outpouring 100%. I don’t want to wait when we can impact lives now though for His glory and love.
My heart to carry this out is to reach out through teaching tools such as podcast, YouTube, books and meetings. I have shared these ideas with others before yet have not acted on this as I should have. So therefore, I repent publicly of not taking this more seriously. I’m also asking for your prayer support to travel and focus on this mandate which I believe the whole earth needs. It takes tremendous resources to do this exclusively. I do however feel strongly that this is what the Lord is saying to us. I do not want to delay in publicly asking for prayers to confront strongholds and resistance to this clarion call. There will be more and more who you will hear about doing this same thing I believe in the days and years to come. As I write this to you a clear word of prayer protection but also prosperity for the call is manifested. A word released at our home church by Robert Henderson bears witness with me about no one noticing him but feeling a mandate that was important. That has felt like me for so many years. It does require some intercession to break down walls and barriers to be noticed and seen by the right people. To remove the blinders of those who should know us. We are interceding for wisdom to deal with anything in the courts of heaven we need to deal with also.
We will keep you informed with places I will be speaking at as the doors open more and more. We will be in Portland, CT June 8th and 9th with the Noviello’s. We will meet Aaron Boyd who will lead worship for the 8th. He is the writer of the song, God of this City which you’ve likely heard. Excited about this trip and expecting the presence of the Lord to manifest in several ways. Lives will be touched by Him through your prayers and our obedience to show up for His heart revealed for those who come. If you would like for us to come to your area and minister, please contact us so that we can prayerfully consider this. I will stay in better touch with you all and thank you for your love for our family and ministry. I have made the decision to at this time step away from social media tools. This has been done in part to clear my mind and heart for what matters most in our new season now.
Blessings to all,
Michael Ashburn
